Share a large file with a chosen lifetime

Large files can be shared by link, with a lifetime chosen before uploading and visible progress for each file.

Available since 9 October 2026

How this helps

Share a file unsuitable for an ordinary attachment, while preventing the message from being sent before its upload is complete.

A practical example

You prepare a document package for a partner. Choose seven or thirty days, authorize the upload, and wait for completion before confirming the message.

In practice

The lifetime starts when the upload finishes. The link is inserted into the draft after the required consent; progress identifies files still uploading.

Changing the lifetime creates a new link and replaces the selected occurrence. Older links retain their original validity; this action does not revoke them retroactively.

Possession of the link grants access to the file. Send it to the intended recipient and avoid sharing sensitive information more widely than you intend. The guide explains access, limits and available retry options.
